Later, I stopped by Yoshi’s, where Lester Chambers of the Chambers Brothers and Steve Cropper from Booker T and the MG’s were the stars of a fundraiser for Bay Area musicians with medical problems.
For those of you who don’t know, Cropper co-wrote “(Sittin’ on) The Dock of the Bay” with Otis Redding. He was also the guitar player for the Blues Brothers.
It was a great night for the Memphis sound. One thing I can say about the old cats, they start on time and they never want to stop playing
