It did start with a little language barrier, but the common denominator being our passion for the sport of motorcycling broke down any walls, so all had a great time. The Dan Lawson Band was the feature act for the day! It was a great show and a great party! Thanks to Jeff Starke and Freddie Arnold of the IMBBA for the invitation.

Brea, CA - Samson Exhaust is proud to introduce their new Powerflow III series of exhausts which are the most powerful two into one exhausts ever made. Kenny Price, President of Samson Exhaust Bio

Brea, CA- Kenny Price, founder of Samson Motorcycle Products Inc, located in Brea, California, is the inventor and leading innovator of numerous patented and high-performance exhaust systems for Harley Davidson and Metric Cruiser motorcycles. From his humble beginnings as a teenager in the early 60’s, Kenny’s aspiration was to tweak more power out of his 56'Vespa. He graduated to a 650 Triumph Bonneville a couple years later. Then in 1969 he bought his first Harley, a 65 Panhead, which he still owns today. After Kenny’s friends saw how well his 1965 Panhead looked and performed with its newly fabricated pipes, they had him make pipes for their bikes. This was done with raw tubing welded together with an acetylene torch and coat hangers as welding wire. It was not long thereafter that Kenny was making pipes for many of his friends and their friends motorcycles. While working at Cheatah Choppers in 1969 he was nicknamed “The Fabricator” which was followed by "The Godfather of Pipes" soon after. Today, Samson Motorcycle Products, Inc. continues to design and manufacture innovative exhaust products where Kenny is involved in every aspect of pipes made at Samson. Samson still exists as a family owned business that has an enthusiast mindset and genuine passion and connection in the motorcycle industry. “From the very beginning we set out to build the very best motorcycle exhaust systems. We designed every aspect of our company to do just that, and we’ve succeeded. Our belief is simple. Our customers, when it’s all said and done, want a company that puts quality before quantity. And here we are still doing what we do best.” "The Godfather of Pipes" Kenny Price ”
Paving the way, Samson always has and will continue to set a standard for the motorcycle industry.  Their styles and designs are still copied world wide, while these pipes may look the same nothing compares to a Samson pipe in quality or sound.  Kenny Price the founder and CEO of Samson once said, "From the very beginning we set out to build the very best motorcycle exhaust systems.  We designed every aspect of our company to do just that.  And we've succeeded

New Biker book hits the stores
Prodigal Father
Pagon Son
by Anthony "LT" Menginie and Kerrie Droban

This book moves into a <possible> new trend in "tell all" biker books: Inside stories from the kids of the outlaw bikers. From a commercial standpoint this makes sense. With that said, while this is the story of one child growing up in a small, specific circle of people, the author wants to convince the reader that this is what it's like to grow up in a typical motorcycle club environment.  Obviously he had a horrific experience, but it sounds to me more like the drugs and alcohol caused the majority of the problems rather than their club life. If you mix this kind of drug/alcohol use, whether a biker’s or a preacher’s, you are bound to have serious chaos and dysfunction in your life and the lives of anyone around you.
I like the fact that the writer teamed up with a experienced professional as the co-author. Droban's contribution of colorful language sprinkled with plenty of fifty cent words made for a better read, but it made these characters seem not so real at the same time.
Even if this book did not ring true of “typical" biker family life,  it was courageous on the part of the author to share this deeply personal story of his painful early years with the public the way he did. At 267 pages long including photos, I found this book to be entertaining, interesting and definitely worth my time.

Strip Club Choppers at Daytona 2011

Daytona Bike Week

Our 2011 tour season officially began at the 70th anniversary of Daytona Bike Week and we were knee deep in the middle of it. The week began rather inauspiciously as the crowds were thin. However by Wednesday the traffic was at a standstill. As most of you know we were located on US 1 at the Hang Dawg Saloon right across from the Iron Horse. The cops there are pretty cool and let us whatever we wanted, that was until we had the bright idea to put some very hot girls dancing on fully functional strip pole mounted to the back of our Stripperglide. Well that caused quite the commotion. Cars, bikes and trucks were literally stopping in their tracks to take pictures and tip the scantaly clad hotties in their g-strings and bikini tops. One dude actually got off his bike and made it rain. In stripper lingo that’s when someone throws a big pile of money into the air and lets it rain down where ever it falls. This cat tossed about 100 one-dollar bills and the wind scattered them all over.   Now we had pandemonium. The girls jumped off the Stripperglide scrabbling to collect the money, helpful bikers off course started running around to aid the them, I mean who wouldn’t? The once cool cops had enough and were fearful that our brilliant marketing ploy was now a hazard and a crash was imminent so they had us back up behind the fence line. This wasn’t so great because the fence obscured the impromptu strip club atmosphere. So thinking quickly we simply took down the fence. Hey if you have the tools use them right? Our stripper pole bikes always get attention but this was outrageous, but rest assured hot chicks actually dancing on our Stripperglide will become a permanent part of the SCC Roadhouse. Finally we want to give a shout out to the Holiday Inn and Resort who put us up and hosted a two-day poster signing with all the bells and whistles. Definitely recommend staying there during bike week. Check out our new web site for new products, including our Charlie Sheen inspired bowling shirt and pictures. San Francisco, Calif, April 5, 2011Daron Ker, director and producer of the 83 minute feature documentary film “I RIDE,” announced today that the movie will premier in West Los Angeles at Laemmle’s Royal Theatre on Thursday, May 12, 2011.

The documentary based on the life and times of biker music’s favorite sons, Harry and Tommy Fryed, has been a labor of love for Ker as he journeyed into the biker world; a world Ker knew nothing about. As a native of Cambodia, Daron was first captivated by the passionate lyrics and harmonious sounds of the Fryed Brothers Band’s original songs.

Upon closer inspection, filmmaker Ker found the back-story of the brothers intriguing and set out to document their life. Over a three-year span Daron tagged along as the siblings traveled with their 5-piece band entertaining at biker events. What Ker presents is an entertaining rendition of what being part of the biker family means. With guest appearances by performer Willie Nelson, Pat Simmons of the Doobie Brothers Band, living legend Sonny Barger and other iconic figures, this film promises all the emotion, excitement, chills and thrills of any biker culture flick. Best part is.. it’s all true.

Bartels Harley-Davidson is sponsoring a pack ride to Laemmle’s Royal Theatre at 11523 Santa Monica Blvd, West L.A., CA 90025 at 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. Contact Bartels at debi@bartelsharley.com or Debi Black at 310 823-1112-ext 253 for more information.

Tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased at www.laemmle.com/viewtheatre.php?thid=1 or at the door. Show time is 8-10 p.m.
