The 71st is now over and what a rally it was.  The City of Sturgis has just released attendance numbers. 2011 attendance came in at 416,727, which is just over a 10% drop from last year. (Visits to Mt Rushmore were down over 17%)  It's hard to compete with 10th year anniversary rallies like the 70th but considering extra factors like economy and fuel prices, it was a good year and another GREAT rally. (one of the best for riding and nice temperatures.)
The city of Sturgis issued 719 vendor licenses this year, down 5.5 percent from the 761 issued last year. This year's total exceeded the 2009 mark of 696 licenses.
